Go Green in Corona

With all of the posts and articles you have undoubtedly seen throughout Earth Week, how many of them actually gave you useful tips on how to conserve water? It's certainly no secret that the state of California has been in the midst of a drought crisis for some time, so why not use this week as inspiration to make some changes in your day-to-day routine to live a greener lifestyle? Hopefully, these are some changes that you can incorporate into your routine without too much of a disruption!

Green Living at Dos Lagos
Just by living at Montecito at Dos Lagos apartment homes, you are already a few steps toward living a greener life! Our outdoor deck offers you a space to enjoy the natural sunlight - so go outside to read a book or magazine, or to entertain friends instead of being indoors!

We are also located just steps away from The Shops at Dos Lagos and other area points of interest, so you don't even have to get into your vehicle to arrive at many area destinations!

What Can You Do at Home?
Shop Local - When it's time to do some grocery shopping, head to the Corona Farmers Market to purchase fresh, locally cultivated produce!

Unplug "Energy Suckers" - These include large appliances like your television or microwave. If this is too tricky to remember to do, start small. You can begin by unplugging your phone charger when you disconnect your phone from it in the morning!

Go Paperless - Do you pay any of your bills online? Unsubscribe from receiving paper statements in the mail.

The Good, Old-Fashioned Carpool - Chat with your neighbors to see if you work in the same area. If so, take turns driving to work!

Laundry - Do full loads of laundry, and wash them in cold water! A half-load of laundry requires the same amount of energy as a full one, so make it count! The same applies to the dishwasher.

What are your favorite ways to be environmentally friendly in either your apartment home or throughout the community? These are some simple adjustments that will go a long way in reducing your energy output! Share your ideas on the Montecito at Dos Lagos Facebook or Twitter pages. We look forward to reading your opinions!
